The Friends of the Bentonville Library,Inc. reorganized in 2002 with a small group of 6
individuals. Since then we have grown to over 120 members in our nonprofit organization.
We are very proud of the following accomplishments that we have achieved in the last 4
years such as refurbishing the Caldecott and Newberry collections, purchasing books on
CD, purchasing new and existing periodicals for the library.
The past two summers found our members helping organize the annual Children's Summer
Reading Enrichment Program .We were proud of the fact that this past summer's participant
enrollment was over 500 children from preschool age through the 6th grade. Prizes and
treats were awarded to the readers following a special program performed by Toucan Jam
outside on the Bentonville Square.
In the past we have sponsored many used book sales and donation drives. The Friends hope
to continue organizing those in the future as well. If you have books that you would like to
donate to the Friends to resell, please bring them to the book store during the store hours or
bring them to the Information Desk.
